Essa: Pure design.
Wow, great Flash site. I think it's the company Kooba works for (correct me if I'm wrong). I find it via my comments and I really like that metallic effect and the animations are so cool. You can think that it's one of the many websites out there with a lot of effects and psicodelic interfaces but not here. All has his right measure and achives a great balance and integration. Good work Kooba if you designed the site. It deserves a 5 star.

Great Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers review.
I haven't watch it yte (maybe on Sunday) and this review watered my mouth. I can't wait to watch it.

Some Flash questions that need to be answer.
All this week, a lot of websites and blogs have made public the security hole in the Flash Player version previous to v.6.0r65. I can't remeber how many updates the Flash Player 5 had (maye 2 or 3) but Flash Player 6 has overcome that number. It would like to thank the Macromedia people for their effort in fixing this flaws but I think there is one thing still to be solved: the auto-update support for the Player and the Authoring tool.

With these updates, everybody who is developing Flash content has to make sure that his clients and audience has the lastest built and this mean a pain for clients. They ask: "Why I have to update it so many times?" and so on.

What I want to know is why the Flash Player doesn't have an auto-update option like Real Player plug-in, the Windows Media Player, etc... which tells you when a new Player built is available. I don't know if this option will increase a lot the Player download size but it will keep all the user up.to date with the lastest Player and it will solve many doubts that people have about the plater.

Another question is why the authoring tool has also an auto-update feature built in so we can update the Documentation and the Authoring and Debugging players via the Answers panel.

If you know the answers to these questions, please post a comment. I think it will be very useful to the community.

I need someone to host a php script for a day or two.
Most of you bloggers know the PHP file at voidstar.com that takes your web page and turns it into RSS 0.92. This solution is great for Blogger users who want to syndicate its site and be aggregated to news feeders. This php only takes the first 25 items it finds and I want it to turn an html which has more than 25 items into a XML file.

What for? Well, I want to include a search in my site which searchs through the blog archives (generated in XML) and the results will be displayed in a Flash application like the one I posted yesterday.

I only need to someone to host the modified PHP file which it can be downloaded at voidstar.com for a day or two so I can generate the XML files of my blog archives.

If you want to help me, post a comment with your e-mail and I will write you.
Thanks in advance.

Vulnerability in Macromedia Flash Player.
A security vulnerability in the widely used Macromedia Flash player can allow an attacker to gain control over a user's PC. This can only occur with Macromedia Flash movies (SWF) that have been hand edited with a binary editor; Macromedia Flash the authoring tool will not output movies with this vulnerability.
So if you haven't update your player to v 6,0,65,0 or you don't know which version you have you better head to the Macromedia Player Download Center to get the lastest version of the player.

First real experience with Flash and XML.
This is my first real contact with XML. I have made some little experiments but nothing worth to mention.

This application is a book where data is pulled out of some XML files is displayed.
The index is dynamically built based in the info of the generic XML which points out which sections the book has. Once we select a section, data is populated from another XML to draw the table.
You can view which elements want to be displayed based in the four options at the top. Also there is a search function who finds occurences in the Code and Name.
When we select an element of the table a info car, that it can be printed, is displayed.
To view a useful example follow this steps:
- Click Continue.
- In the index, play with it and then select P Procesos Operativos and then 05 Centro de Soporte.
- Play with the options and the search and then select the element Atencion Media Correcta.
There you have a full info card.

All the data is in Spanish but you don't have to understand what is been displayed to evaluate the application. I wait for your feedback. When I finish it I will make a good example and translate the source code to English.

Great add-on for IExplorer: MyIE2!
I found this great add-on for IExplorer that all we use it wanted these features long time ago: tab browsing, anti pop-ups, conecction information (speed, Ip, memory usage) and it is lighter than IE. Go to the MyIE website.

MyIE2 is a powerful multi-page browser based on the IE core(IE5.x or IE 6.0 required). It can open multiple web pages in just one window. And it only takes a little system resource when surfing with a greatly integrated user interface. It also supports special Plug-Ins & IE Extensions to let you have an enjoyable surfing experience.

I'm back with batteries full!
After a loooong week relaxing in the coast, I'm back to the daily routine. When I came back to work I notice they have began an XML-Flash project (great!). It's the first opportunity I have to work with XML and Flash. I know little of it (only the basis) and it's time to put in practice the theory.
The proyect it's an on-line document so the index and the content is populated from a XML. I will keep you informed about it and I hope any obstacle I have you can help me.

I also have noticed that lots of new announcements this last week, one of the most wanted, Director MX. If I have the time to take a sneak at it I will post my impressions.
